We had a tragic event that happened Tuesday which resulted in the sudden death of my mother in law. 911 was called and she was taken to Banner Ironwood ER. A tragic experience was eased because everyone was so friendly and helpful from the receptionist to the nurses. My family informed PFS that we didn't have any of her insurance cards and they told us not to worry and call when we got it (which we did). I just want to give kudos to our nurse, Maggie, she was amazing! She treated my father with gentleness, she never rushed us, and was constantly checking on us as we were gathering the family to say goodbye. They did not rush us out. She explained everything, what happened, what was next, what to expect. She went above and beyond in my book. As a medical professional myself, this is an amazing RN you have working for you, we were grateful she was working that day. Thanks, Maggie.

Banner Goldfield Medical Center was having difficulty managing a patient surge and needed extra help. Maggie asked a PCA who was sitting at IW to go over and assist. The PCA didn't have enough gas in her car or any money, so Maggie gave her gas money to get over there. This is an excellent example of teamwork, compassion and human kindness. The staff and patients were positively impacted by Maggie's generosity.
