I witnessed Stephanie Martin go above and beyond one night for a patient. This patient had been in the hospital for weeks and no one had shaved his face and he had long unwashed hair. Stephanie took the time out of her busy night and shaved this man's face, washed his hair, and then cut his hair into a short men's cut. The patient looked and felt 100 times better. He was literally crying he was so thankful, which in turn made Stephanie cry with him. They hugged, and he told everyone he encountered the rest of his stay about his "Blonde nurse Steph" and how good he felt.
Stephanie has worked in a lot of roles and achieved great things during her time with MaineGeneral. She is a full-time case manager RN in home care and also still helps out at the hospital. She has many certifications including her Wound Therapy Associate, Wound Vac Certificate, as well as being certified in Mental health first Aide certified, and TB/PPD. Steph has been back with us since August. She has quickly become an integral part of the team and is leading the way by being a preceptor and setting a great example for all nurse case managers. She works tirelessly to ensureher patients receive only the best care. She is always the first to volunteer to do extra and help in any way she can. We are very fortunate to have Stephanie as part of this team!
