Clara goes out of her way to assist and accommodate the patient. In nurse visit, Clara is very compassionate about her work and a wonderful teacher. I am new to Kaiser San Dimas and she has been very helpful with my training, I am truly grateful for what she does.

Although Clara is not in a formal leadership position, she takes ownership for nurse visits. She gives new people a thorough orientation to her area. A recent new hire to a nurse visit states, "she is awesome, she teaches you, encourages you to take notes, and said it was okay to ask a hundred times so you can do things correctly." Clara is very service oriented and she strives to meet the needs of her patients. I observed her AIDET with a member with hypertension, and she individualized the DASH diet for her culture, gave specific examples of what could be substituted, and how things could be cooked to normalize her BP and possibly lose weight.
The two of them laughed and smiled throughout the interaction, Clara even got the spouse involved. She makes sure the meds are available like Testosterone or Zarxio, so patients do not have to wait for meds to be obtained from the pharmacy. If patients are running late she works them in to meet their needs and greets them with a smile. Clara's patients love her, as she goes above and beyond to meet their needs. She creates a fun and professional environment in nurse visits.
