Gilbert Abalos is an extraordinary, one of a kind nurse! I met Gilbert on Sunday morning over the phone while checking to see how my father was doing. I asked if I could go over my father's med list and he kindly, without hesitations, said, "Sure, come on over." When I arrived to my father's room I was amazed at Gilbert's nurse ethics. He was gentle, kind, patient, knowledgeable, approachable, very positive attitude, calm, and had a smile on his face. Immediately he gave me his trust and excellent care. I have never ever felt that way by a nurse. He's an exemplary nurse. We went over my dad's med list and he answered all my questions. He never made me feel I was taking his time away from his nurse responsibilities. Instead, he made me feel like he was here for me.
The day after visiting my dad and speaking with Gilbert Abalos, I took care of my grandkids. He wished me to have a nice time with my grandkids and gave me peace of mind that he would take great care of my father, so I could enjoy quality time with my grandkids. And I did, thanks to Gilbert! All day I could not stop thinking about what a beautiful nurse Gilbert is. What an asset he is to Grossmont Hospital. He gave me so much reassurance in a kind, loving way.
