I would like to recognize Brittany for her passion and dedication she displayed in ensuring that every family had a positive memorable experience for their hospitalized newborn's 1st Halloween.
After identifying a very cute, and very appropriate theme of Super-Heroes, Brittany helped ensure that the team had all the needed supplies and manpower to throw a very productive "costume making party". During this party, nurses, neonatologists, Childlife and many other NICU disciplines joined parents in making costumes for their ill newborns. While some parents were able to make their own child's costume, there were enough volunteers to ensure that each patient in the NICU had their very own adorable costume, complete with darling accessories -usually in the form of masks - a must for any superhero!
After the tedious work of ensuring each tiny costume was just perfect, Brittany and her team, held a photoshoot for each patient. She used her innate ability to establish a connection with her patients to ensure that every family was an active participant in their infants' first photoshoots. Brittany's gentle encouragement and caring demeanor were essential in coaxing a mom into appreciating the moments free of procedures, alarms, and complicated medical diagnosis.
