Jordan was my nurse on the WICHU the day after my C-section. I was not taking the pain meds adequately, so when my spinal wore off, I felt like I had been run-over. Jordan's shift started when my pain immediately went to 10/10. She did vitals and called the physician for breakthrough pain control. Jordan was so supportive. She got me a warm blanket and comforted my newborn while we waited for the meds to kick in. I felt very confident in the care I received. She was attentive, caring, and compassionate. A few days after I was discharged my milk came in. My baby girl was unable to latch as I tried to feed her all morning. Frantic, I posted on the Belfast area breastfeeding support site for help. Fifteen minutes later, Jordan called me. I answered and the first thing she said was "Are you ok?" I burst into tears. Nothing can compare to the feeling of not being able to feed your baby. Jordan convinced me to take an impromptu trip to the hospital for lactation help. She gave me other options of how to feed my girl and for the next 48 hours, I used a bird beak syringe with my milk. I was in crisis mode before Jordan called me. When I left the hospital after her lactation consult, I felt so much better. Words cannot describe how much love and respect I have for Jordan now, and through it all, she was dealing with her own pregnancy. She helped me through my hardest times and I am grateful.
