Charla is a font of knowledge and information. Working in the OR, there is not always the opportunity to interact directly with the patients, but the work that is done behind the scenes impacts the work of the team and patient safety. She goes above and beyond to be sure that all members of the team have everything needed to provide the best possible care for our patients. New nurses gravitate to her with questions and for clarification of processes and procedures. Charla always stays late to assist the other shifts when there are additional patients added, thus ensuring patients have timely access to the OR. Most importantly is how Charla orchestrates the "time out" procedure that is so important before any surgical procedure. The entire OR team agrees that Charla's attention to detail, ability to ensure completeness and teamwork makes her the best "time-out" leader of all!
