Martina was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient she cared for on the Mother/Baby unit. This mother was concerned on the day of discharge when her newborn infant began to have full body tremors. In the nomination she wrote, "Due to Martina's quick actions and experience, she was able to quickly get our baby the help she needed. Martina hugged us as we cried and gave words of encouragement. Martina asked every day how things were and stated she would pray for us. It was a great relief three days later that we all went home safely - but not without saying goodbye to Martina, our angel in disguise."
