In January, my husband and I welcomed our first child, and thankfully Lyn Haug was our nurse the day our son was born. We first met Lyn at shift change 24 hours into a hard labor (with very little progress and getting discouraged). I was induced and thus told it could take a while to have the baby, however one of the first things Lyn said to us when she walked into the room was "we are going to deliver your baby TODAY". I can't fully explain the impact those 8 words had on my husband and me; however I can tell you that our outlook changed immediately for the better.
Lyn expertly and efficiently spent the next 9 hours putting my body in different positions to help our son move along the process as quick as possible (which he did) and made good on her word to deliver him that day. Towards the end, he was moving very quickly and she went into action immediately once we realized how close he was. Lyn had very little time to get everything in order and get the physician there in time to deliver, however her cool, calm and proficient approach was apparent the entire time.
Thirty-three hours into the labor, our beautiful, healthy son was born and we fully give the credit to Lyn that he was finally born when he was. Not to discredit the other care we received while at the hospital, however something was very different and appreciated with Lyn. Her no-nonsense approach and competence was very evident from the beginning and left little doubt in our minds that we were in great hands.
Throughout the years, our family has received care at many different facilities and departments throughout Regional Health and I can say with certainty that I highly recommend Lyn and the care she gives.
We are forever indebted to Lyn and will never truly be able to repay her for everything she did for us that day, but please know she is an amazing nurse and we truly thank her for everything she did for us.
