Marie recently took care of my sister who had a stroke. I was so impressed with Marie's kind and compassionate nature. When speaking to my sister, she got down at eye level. My sister told me that this made her feel as if she was actually being talked to instead of talked at. Additionally, my sister had problems with speech, and Marie never rushed her or finished my sister's sentences for her. I know, after speaking to my sister, that this was a huge frustration she had with everyone except Marie.
Marie really showed me the ICARE values in practice! She was patient and constantly reinforced the education so my sister would feel comfortable with her care. I so appreciate all she did to make my sister feel well taken care of.
