DeNeil has gone above and beyond her duties as a nurse. She shows love and compassion for her patients and just as importantly, their families.
In the AM hours of her shift DeNeil came into our room with the doctor to go over the next step of care for my 83 year old grandmother, who had suffered a stroke. After the doctor left, my 66 year old aunt (the patient's daughter) was worried and had a lot of concern. She asked DeNeil a few questions and then she became upset and very emotional. DeNeil wrapped her arms around the 66 year old daughter and held her and consoled her for several minutes. My aunt left the room and DeNeil began to talk to me about the upcoming care of my grandmother and also asked me if I was doing okay, and did I need anything. DeNeil interacted with both me and my aunt on a personal level and not just a professional level, which gave us all a peace of mind.
