Brittany's clinical expertise and genuine caring personality makes her a joy for the staff, patients, and patient's family members to work with. She never thinks of a job being too small or under her pay grade to accomplish. Being a MST prior to becoming a nurse on the floor, Brittany is skilled in all aspects of patient care. She manages her time accordingly in order to help others where she is needed. There is no job she will not try to help with, or do it herself. Whether it is helping give a patient a pre-surgical bath, putting a patient on a bedside commode, or emptying a urinal, Brittany is more than happy to help.
A certain patient on the floor was somewhat confused after surgery and with all of the new medications he was on. After a somewhat rough day of the patient being insecure, confused, and aggravated, Brittany's soothing voice and kind words were able to put the patient's mind at ease so he could finally get some sleep.
She's not just a nurse on our floor, she is a role model. She is someone that sets a prime example of how a nurse or any healthcare professional should act. While talking to her patients, she personalizes their care and truly gets to know each individual patient as a person. It is easy to tell that how she relates to the patients helps ease what can be sometimes a difficult experience for them and their families.
Brittany exemplifies characteristics of a leader. With her vast knowledge and skill of her profession, she is a key member in making our floor work efficiently. Brittany always has a positive attitude and it radiates through the entire staff. She is truly a pleasure to work with. It is obvious that Brittany cares endlessly for her patients, patient's families, and coworkers.
