On November 16th I was admitted to the hospital for what I thought would be a routine surgery; however, I was still experiencing symptoms that couldn't be explained. Jason was as committed as my doctor to determine what was wrong. On November 17th, when my unexplained symptoms worsened, within seconds, he was consulting with my surgeon. It turned out I was diagnosed with Gillian-Barre syndrome.
My surgeon praised Jason's clinical judgment and for avoiding putting me in a dangerous situation if I had undergone the scheduled surgery. During my four days with Jason as my primary RN, he talked me through my fears, comforted me, and helped me understand my diagnosis and prognosis.
Jason helped make my hospital room a home for the week and always kept a 'patient first' attitude the entire time. He exemplifies the passion, compassion and commitment to his patients and deserves a DAISY Award.
