Shakila was honored with The DAISY Award when she was a bedside nurse in the CCU at MaineGeneral Medical Center. The impact she had on the patient family who nominated her was clearly powerful. Now that Shakila is a cardiology Nurse Practitioner, she continues to strive for the highest level of expertise, skill, and compassion to her patients and their families as described below:

My wife went to the Augusta Campus CCU in December and from the beginning to the end of herstay, Shakila was the first nurse that cared for her, and she set the standard that others could only hope to reach. Shakila's attention to comfort, care, administration of medical needs with full explanation and willingness to embrace me in the care of my wife will always be remembered.
