My husband has Crohn's disease and hated every minute of being in the hospital. Four years ago we started coming to St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights. It was a breath of fresh air. The several times he stayed here, it's always been wonderful. I am a very worried person and I've never once left him alone at night. I stay 24/7 while he's there at the hospital. I just couldn't leave him. When it comes to my husband's illness, it is very scary. This last visit was very trying with his new problem and it was made so much easier by this nurse. She was helpful, caring, and treated not just my husband with respect and care; but also treated me with the same respect and care. Not one time did she get frustrated with me for asking questions about his care or frustrated with my husband. She was so helpful and really made us feel that he was her only patient even though the floor was very full. She even made sure I was okay even when I was falling apart. Thank you so much for nurses like her who really care.
