Nicole Geno has been recognized by so many families in the month of December that I have lost count. GEM's, Guardian Angel Wings, Notes, Cards, Letters, in so many different ways. One family member came back down from the Palliative Care unit specifically to find Nicole; to praise her, get her opinion, and be comforted by Nicole that she was doing the right thing. Nicole went up several times that day during and after her shift to comfort the patient's loved one. Her patients and families know her by name every time we round on them. She shares part of herself with each and every one. Nicole has precepted new nurses and recruited others to join the Remarkable Care Coalition at MCSA. Going above and beyond is an everyday occurrence for Nicole.
