Cole went beyond measure talking to the spouse of his patient. Getting to know him in small talk led to life saving measures a few minutes later. Cole's ability to pay attention to detail and evaluate the situation significantly impacted this patient and her husband's care.
The Husband was found unresponsive in the chair. Cole called out for help. The Husband is "unresponsive and his ICD just fired", Cole activated Code 12 process by calling for help. Cole quickly did the ABCDE bundle and clearly helped to save the Husband's life. Cole quickly provided lifesaving ACLS to the Husband.
The patient was extremely thankful to Cole and the entire CCU staff for rapid response and lifesaving medical aid provided to her husband. Cole was instrumental in providing information to physicians about the visitor because of small talk he had with the visitor just moments before he collapsed.
