Kathy was the first nurse to care for my baby when I got to the NICU to see her. She was extremely calming and reassuring about everything that was going on. I feel that she went above and beyond by immediately including me in everything that she was doing and allowing me, encouraging me to take over as many of the tasks that I could (i.e. temperature, diapers, feeding). She took the time to show me how she did everything (even swaddling the baby) and explained how I could care for her at home. When it came time to breast feeding she sat with me each time until I was comfortable and actively helped me figure out what I needed to do. She also provided positive encouragement that allowed me to feel confident.
She truly allowed me to feel confident and assured at a very vulnerable time. Not to forget the fantastic care she provided my baby.
