On behalf of my entire family, I would like to thank you for the compassionate care you showed my mother. The decision to remove my mother from the respirator that was essentially keeping her alive to follow her and the family's wish will continue to be one of the hardest decisions in our lives. You, Deborah, exercised a level of care and concern to ensure that, most importantly, my mother was as comfortable as possible, and that she and the family could have dignity through the process. I commend you for being an honor to your profession and helping our family through the loss of our matriarch.
Witnessing the dedication and grace which nurses like you demonstrated in caring for both of our mothers during their final moments, we feel it is imperative that we support the next generation of nursing professionals.
