During the workup of a routine pre-anesthesia patient, Davia noticed several subtle findings that although were not concerning individually, together the symptoms suggested a more serious picture of a child who was very ill, requiring a visit to the emergency department. Davia told me about her workup, physical exam, emphasizing the abnormal finding and recommended checking the baby's glucose. When we did, the baby's glucose level had dropped significantly low. Her astute observations expedited the baby's care. It was fantastic care by a great nurse.

She embodies all of those attributes that are so important to the care of kids. In addition to being consistently kind and compassionate to our patients and families, she cares for them as if they were her own family. As a director, what I am most appreciative for is Davia's keen sense of awareness with respect to potential safety issues. She spends the majority of her time in MRI which poses its own unique challenges with regard to maintaining a safe environment. On a daily basis, Davia advocates on behalf of those she cares for to ensure that they are medically safe and appropriately cared for.
