When I first came into this hospital, I was in very bad shape from C diff. I had lost 10 lbs in 4 days and the pain was indescribable. I was completely run down, unable to protect myself from being talked down to, ridiculed and ostracized verbally by people prone to do this kind of thing to a helpless, older patient. I was tired of being belittled, and tried to defend myself but was treated even more rudely and got a bad reputation. Then, Tony stepped in on his first night as my RN and made the remainder of my stay at Renown not only well cared for, but even pleasant despite the ongoing medical problems.
He gave me the benefit of the doubt, still not knowing me. Tony has treated me with dignity, respect and kindness from the very start. He has always been nonstop, way ahead of my needs and in every respect a perfect gentleman, RN and friend as well. All the RNs and CNAs look up to Tony and follow the example of his duties and positive attitude.
Following Tony's time as my RN, several others have come in to apologize for their initial treatment of me, bringing me to grateful tears. As a Sergeant in the USMC and WIA in Vietnam, I also apologized and explained some of my defenses. I have since been talked to as a grown, knowledgeable man and in short, I attribute this to Tony's lead, as his sensitive and intelligent ways helped guide other's responses. What a man of great experience and expertise!
I have been in 4 local medical facilities and Tony is the very best RN I have ever had. He is impeccable in his manners, duties and medical knowledge; he has superb initiative and is sure to go places! He's a natural teacher and is very deserving of the DAISY Award.
Thank you for the privilege of having this fine and outstanding young man as my RN here at Renown. I've been very blessed by Tony and he is also a delight and plain fun to be around! His promptness and ease at effectively multi-tasking is also amazing. We have been able to be on the same page, which I think is actually gratifying. Many thanks to Tony.
