I've never had any experiences in an ICU so was shocked and overwhelmed at the well-oiled machine and so many moving parts when my husband was brought up to the ICU from what was to be an outpatient procedure. I believed the ICU stay would only be a day or two and he'd be back up and crabby about not getting his heart procedure. As the nursing shifts flew by, his situation became more grave and more concerning to the medical professionals, and me. Kimberly Norland noticed right away. She was not only kind, gentle, respectful and caring with my husband, but she was wonderful and compassionate with me as well. She was able to put my mind at ease and explain things so I could understand. I believe Kimberly Norland embodies the true meaning of nursing.
