I am writing about a nurse we had on the CVP Unit. We cannot begin to thank her for her excellent care that she displayed to my husband and our entire family. My husband came in via ambulance. He was unresponsive. He has stage four liver failure. He had been transferred from St. Luke's Northland. Shannon got him settled in, then talked to our family to make sure we understood everything that was going, on and our concerns.
***
Shannon showed so much compassion to my husband. She called the Doctor with every concern. She made sure we had his lab updates every day and talked with our daughter, who is also an RN, which made us feel like family. Praise God for nurses like her. My husband is doing much better now. There is no doubt that we will make The University of Kansas Hospital our home hospital with the best Doctors, Nurses and Staff.
