Carsten is a kind and patient man who always has a smile on his face even when things get tough in the NICU. He makes every effort to speak to the parents in a way they can understand what is going on and actually feel a part of their infants care. He greets each nurse on the unit and welcomes their input regarding the care of our patients. He is patient during anxious times (i.e. high risk delivery, codes, placing lines, etc.) He always has a teaching approach during these situations as well.

Carsten is an exemplary example of what a nurse should be. He consistently goes out of his way to talk to the patient's parents to keep them informed of how their baby is doing. He always remains calm even in the most stressful situations. Carsten treats every person with dignity and respect - from environmental services, to bedside nurses, to parents, to management. Carsten does all of these things each and every day. He has genuine care and concern for the patients and it shows.
