Our father spent 2 nights in the ICU with Ray was his primary nurse. He effectively engaged with our father and the entire family with expert care, he scoured the hospital to find special pillows to ease his discomfort, provided an iPad with soft jazz music, and arranged for sandwiches/chips/desserts to be delivered for our family when he realized that we were staying around the clock with our dad. His gentile manner put our dad at ease and no request was too big or too small for him to tackle. We observed his positive/helpful interactions with other staff members who were quick to sing his praises. At a very difficult time in our lives, Ray was a "ray of sunshine and hope". He is most deserving of this award.
