Lola always takes 100% the best care for her patients. Their comfort and well-being are always her priority, nothing else. One particular instance that happened recently really made me realize how special of a nurse Lola really is.
We received a patient from another unit during an evening shift, Lola was very busy taking care of her group of patients.
The patient was very uncomfortable and was in pain and was very anxious when we received him on our floor. Lola didn't waste a minute. She was quickly in with the patient at his bedside. Lola was in the patient's room for over an hour. She gave the patient a complete bed bath, addressed all of his wounds, wiped down his bed, soaked and cleaned his face, changed his PICC dressing, started dob hof feedings, tucked him in and by the time she was done the patient was smiling and you could tell he knew he was in good hands!
The care she gave that veteran that evening was exceptional, and the care she gives every time she is at work is exceptional. She deserves to be recognized! I know that if I were ever in that patient's shoes that was transferred to us, I would want Lola to be my nurse!
