Mary Beth is a true representative of the qualities of a professional nurse. While working full time, she has completed her BSN. She is actively involved in quality improvement for the MCHC and serves as our vaccination coordinator for Children's Hospital. During the manager's leave, she assumed the role of charge nurse, leading the team while providing excellent quality patient care. She is well respected by the physicians and staff and viewed as a leader in the department.
She demonstrates compassion, empathy, and a caring touch to our most vulnerable patients. She provides education and support to the parents and caregivers who bring their children to the center. Her follow-through is exemplary. Her patients do not "fall through the cracks". She ensures referrals are completed, calls the parents, and provides "a case management" approach to her daily duties.
Mary Beth serves on the Patient Experience Committee and ALWAYS puts the patient first. After all her years of service to our patients, she continues to embody and emulate a passion for nursing excellence in her practice and desire to lead. She has been the point person for the Adopt a Family, arranges carry-in's for staff to improve employee morale, and daily provides a soft touch to the patients and families at the Maternal Child Health Center. She is a pleasure to work with!
