Mat Tilson RN and Chad Jaeger RN went way beyond their nursing scope to make sure a patient and his family had a beautiful and heartfelt Thanksgiving. Mat reserved a room in the lower level of the hospital through security on night shift and Chad facilitated "the happenings" for the family on day shift. The family enjoyed games, fellowship and food with the patient and his wife on Thanksgiving Day that would not have happened without the thoughtfulness of these two nurses. Chad made sure the patient was medically ready for a party and even took family photos.
The collaboration of the nurses was outstanding for the patient and family. This thoughtfulness is an everyday kind of thing for them and I feel they truly deserve to be recognized and the DAISY Award would be an excellent way to let them know all their hard work and organizational skills were appreciated.
