I was admitted, very sick. My H&H was very low and I started throwing up blood. Melinda worked in surgery at the time but I knew her well because I worked on Med/Surg. They rushed me into surgery where Melinda held my hand. I knew I was in bad shape and I was very scared. I cried to Melinda that I didn't want to do this, I didn't want to die. Melinda held my hand and told me that I was going to be ok and that she would be with the whole time. They turned my head to put in a central line and I fell asleep. When I woke up there was Melinda holding my hand and smiling. She said that I was going to be ok. She walked me back to recovery. She came to see me every day and I will never forget her for that. Later on, we talked about how close I was to death. I truly believe that God sent her to me at that point to reassure me that I would be ok. I will always love her.
Melinda is simply amazing! She is a rare jewel and a real all-star nurse!
