A patient did not have anywhere to go post-op. While the patient was having surgery, his landlord had evicted him and left all his belongings on the porch.
Marilyn had made multiple phone calls to find a place for him to stay. His daughter had promised to have him spend the night with her. She lived in a one-bedroom apartment with five other people.
The nurses got the patient a cab to go to the daughter's house and gave $25.00 so the patient could buy antibiotics and pain medicine. Then in the morning the patient went to the Talbot House for medical and housing assistance.
