...I arrived at the hospital where Kelli was assigned to me at 5 pm. I was very anxious and nervous. Kelli immediately put me at ease and was very thorough in the process of induction and what was about to take place. After she got me started on IV cytotec etc. her shift ended at 7 pm.
The next morning she returned, thank goodness. I am not sure the events that took place that day would have gone as smoothly without her. I know Kelli did what was best for my baby and me. It was a long day with some complications, however Kelli remained calm and confident and that kept me at ease. Kelli helped me through the contractions holding my birthing ball. She was there to keep me calm when my water broke, and held me while I received my epidural and again when I needed a spinal for my C-section. She attended to my every need and anticipated needs I didn't even know! It was a scary day. Baby's heartbeat increased, I wouldn't dilate, I got a temperature, my cervix was swollen, and there was meconium in my water. Needless to say at 6 pm Dr. B decided a C-section was necessary. Kelli's shift ended at 7 pm again, however Kelli had promised me she would stay and she did!
She calmed me during the C-section and was there to see my beautiful HEALTHY baby girl! Kelli deserves this award for going above and beyond. I know my experience wouldn't have been the same without her!
