Delia Potee is an extraordinary Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who volunteered her services to displaced victims from the rampage Hurricane Florence left in North Carolina. While traveling from Gulfport, MS to Charlotte, NC, Delia encountered a situation when the flight attendant aboard a flight requested medical assistance for a passenger complaining of a medical emergency. Ms. Potee went into action and after initially triaging the passenger, she asked for a glucose monitor to test for hypoglycemia. It was determined the 20-year-old active duty service member was an undiagnosed diabetic, requiring medical assistance. Orange juice and crackers were provided by Delia and the pharmacist, also deploying to support Hurricane Florence victims. The selfless act avoided the aircraft from declaring an in-flight emergency, diverting to another airport. The embodiment of commitment began before the deployment in North Carolina ever began. Delia's excellence to render aid when needed at the right place and time was meant to happen.
