I cannot put into words the comfort Alex provided, from the moment I came into the ICU after surgery, to the very end of her shift. Although she had not met me prior to my admission, she acted like a welcome friend, while still being professional. I truly appreciated her friendliness especially since I couldn't have family here.
You have a true gem of a nurse. Alex is smart, confident, and portrays true compassion. Those assets are sometimes hard to find in other health care facilities.
I had a hard time sleeping; Alex took her time, talked with me, and we had some good laughs together. While I felt I had my call light on frequently, Alex welcomed the ability to get me fluids and attend to my needs.
She called and looked everywhere she could think of to try to find options for my clear liquid diet in the middle of the night. It was not easy to find something other and Sierra Mist and water, yet, she was able to snag a Jell-O and a very delicious strawberry popsicle. Strawberry takes on a whole new level of tasty after hours of Sierra Mist and water.
I am truly grateful and honored to have been in the care of such an exemplary nurse.
