Shannon Knowles was surprised with the 3rd quarter DAISY Award. Shannon works on our Med/Surg/Peds unit and a patient’s mother nominated Shannon for her compassion towards her son.
She wrote: “My son is almost 2 years old and he had to stay in the hospital for 5 days. This was a very scary experience for him. Shannon was his nurse for 2 of those days. She was the sweetest, most compassionate, understanding nurse I’ve ever met. She always went out of her way to make sure my son was comfortable and at ease before she checked his vitals or gave him his medication. She was by far his favorite staff member because of her gentle manner and understanding. She put my son before her duties and a mother couldn’t ask for anything more”. Way to go Shannon!
