Corutney is an RN in the Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Riley, where she started three years ago after graduating from the IU School of Nursing. Courtney was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient who has been on the unit for a long time.
The mother of the child wrote: "Courtney's love and prayers have helped my son live a day longer. She brought him a snuggle blanket. Her tears and prayers and encouragement have tourch our hearts forever".
Manager Joni Vaughan spoke to the compassion and leadership that Courney exhibits on the unit where she works straight nights. She is also a member of the Zoe Phillips Foundation which was established by the parents of a former patient in memory of their daughter.
