Throughout the travels of my day, it is rare that I do not have 50+ encounters with people within Atrium Medical Center, the system, and the community. Most recently, the name of a nurse named Leah kept popping up, not only from staff within Atrium, but also outside consultants who had interactions with her observing how she relates to patients by communicating our promise. I then had a random family member who visited a patient on 4 North whom Leah cared for, sending me a text saying, "It seems very busy here tonight, but I want you to know that the dayshift nurse was amazing. Her name was Leah." I immediately texted her manager and asked him about this Leah that I kept hearing about. He immediately replied with the following description: She is a new nurse, she is sweet, positive, easy to manage, cautious, patient-centered, honest, engaged, and much more.
It is rare that I get this barrage of positive feedback randomly and unsolicited. Leah portrays what Atrium Medical Center is all about. She exemplifies the vision for how we deliver care. To know that she is a new nurse in her career and already has that "special something" to make a huge impact on our patients' lives is very exciting! Atrium is blessed to have her as part of our team!
