Joe is unfailingly polite and respectful with patients and coworkers. He takes the time to fully explain information to patients and to listen to their needs. He treats everyone with dignity and respect. Joe frequently brings patients downstairs when they are being discharged. Joe had a difficult patient being discharged who was not being polite toward Joe. He remained calm and never wavered from treating the patient in a professional and respectful manner.
Joe delivers exceptional service to his patients and his coworkers. I and my fellow transition coordinators are always happy to speak with Joe about our patients because we know how well he knows each one, how much he cares about each one and is able to provide us with thorough updates regarding how our patients are progressing.
I have had the opportunity to work with this teammate in various environments over the last couple of years. Joe shadowed my groups as a nursing student, helped engage patients in my groups as a behavioral health tech, and now helps create an environment of safety, support, and learning for my groups as a team lead RN. He works through schedule conflicts and any creative plans I may have for my groups to ensure I am able to provide great service to all the patients in every unit. He is an asset to our behavioral health team and truly embodies what it means to follow our Rules of the Road.
