I have worked with Jennifer for numerous years. I would like to recognize her for her dedication to her patients and families that she serves on the Aflac Unit. Jennifer not only goes above and beyond to help her patients and their families but she is also a team player and a role model to her peers. She is also loved by the patients she cares for.
There are so many examples of her commitment to her patients. Many years back we mutually worked on a case with a history of spouse abuse and she jointly advocated with me for the mother and patient to ensure that they were safe and that the patient continued to receive the best of care despite these difficult circumstances.
Another example was a case where a young adult patient spent a lot of time alone during her lengthy inpatient stay related to medical complications after her BMT treatment. Jennifer took the lead in her nursing care to guarantee that this patient always had her emotional and physical care needs met. She advocated on her behalf to the treatment team to have her emotional and physical needs met.
A final example was a case where the patient's father was not coping well and he often became angry and hostile towards staff. Jennifer was able to establish a relationship of trust with this father so that we could provide the best quality of care to his daughter.
Jennifer is able to utilize her sense of humor, compassion and leadership skills to face any challenge in her work as a nurse on the Aflac Unit. She is respected and very much appreciated by her peers. Jennifer is a wonderful nurse and I feel honored to work by her side.
