This letter is regarding services above and beyond basic nursing services. My father died in the ICU following a massive stroke. All the nurses from the ER and ICU were very nice. However, Will Cawthorne, RN from OR was exceptional. My father had made it clear that he would be an organ donor. It takes alot to let your loved one leave your side to head for surgery. You feel devastated that you can't be by their side for their last breath...that last heartbeat. I don't think I could have done this without feelings of guilt without Will being there. His presence there was paramount for me. His caring and concern made me feel sure that my father would feel loved and would receive the dignity that he deserved during his last physical moments on earth.
