Terrie was nominated by the parents of premature twins who had been in the NICU at Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital and then transferred to Dominican’s NICU. While the parents had many wonderful things to say about their babies’ care, they said, “Terrie was the first nurse who made us feel like parents. She guided us through learning how to care for the special needs of our babies, but always reminded us that we were the parents and knew our babies best. She took to heart that as the babies’ mother I did not know all of the medical and technical care my babies needed, I did know that my daughter slept better after eating on one side and not the other. It was those little things that Terrie passed on to other staff that made all the difference to us.”
