Deanna assisted a poor, elderly, disabled gentleman who was going to loose Medicaid funding in 3 days, thus loosing his PCS caregiver. He really needed a rest home, but refused. Deanna encouraged and made arrangements for him to go to a resthome, so he would receive the care he needed and deserved. Deanna after a long day discovered she was not able to reach a patient via phone. He had a feeling something was wrong and drove 20 miles to check on the patient. She discovered the patient pale, with unstable vital signs. She notifed the physician, lab work was required which was drawn, she drove 20 miles back to town waited on the lab reports, drove back to the client's house and stayed with the patient until arrangements could be made for his hospitalization.
