Gabriela Monroy, RN has been a true asset to our hospital and Surgical unit since she started with us in 2016. Her hard work shined and she quickly became a Team Leader and Charge Nurse. Her passion to learn and expand her knowledge allowed her to float to other units such as Telemetry, Medical, and Post-Partum with easiness. She shows outstanding leader qualities by running an organized and efficient shift in a fast-paced unit. She, naturally, takes in new nurses and students under her wing to mentor them and guide them. She is known to be overly prepared and eager to take on any task.
Patients and their families love her kind and caring bedside manner, her patience to explain every goal for the day, and her attention to detail. They all recognize her passion for serving and caring for others. They describe her spirit as very gentle and loving. Gabriela walks into each room with a warm smile and treats everyone like family. Physicians admire her enthusiasm and positive force to ensure they're informed about anything abnormal and they trust her to advocate for the patients. They have confidence in her work and hear the positive feedback from the patients regularly.
Gabriela has had countless DAISY nominations submitted in the short time she's worked with us. She has been celebrated, among others, at the annual ceremony we hold for all the DAISY nominees and recipients. We're very proud to have her on our team!
