Kelly White was dad's night nurse and showed such selfless love to him and care for him. She was so gentle and attentive to him. She would change and rotate and wash and clean and talk to him and care for him with such gentle love. She even kept an eye on him as he was moved around and came down on her break to care for him. I know my dad felt such reassurance and peace. She cared for him as if he was her own dad and Pops felt it. He lit up as she came in and greeted him. His last night, she came in continually checking on him and making sure everything was perfect and that his mouth was moist and his body comfortable. She was with me as my dad passed and she brought me such comfort.
Although I've only had a one-time meeting with Kelly, I've felt like I've known her for the past month with my dad. She has been everything and more than what we have expected out of a nurse. She has such a kind and loving heart and was taking care of our dad as if he was her dad. She was always attentive and always knew what our dad needed; always making sure he was tucked in and comfortable during the worst times of his stay. But what has separated Kelly from others is what she did that has brought her above and beyond her duties was when our dad was moved from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor; she took time from her breaks to come down to visit him and to even take care of him during her off times. There are many great nurses who have watched over our dad, but it takes exceptional ones like Kelly who gives her all to make sure a dying man is at peace and as comfortable as possible.
