Tina is a former psych nurse and joined 3 North after our Behavioral Health Unit closed.
She is an outspoken advocate for mental health reform and meeting the needs of our long-term patients.
Tina has worked with some of the county officials on transparency with behavioral health tax monies and how the funds are distributed.
She is a full-time employee, caring for her 6 adult children, and her grandchild. Tina is supportive of her co-workers, bringing in food to share with all. She maintains a small medicine box in our breakroom for staff use. She loves to do research and shares her information.
Last year we lost a co-worker to suicide. It was an event that no one should have to live through. Tina encouraged staff to participate in the "Out of the Darkness" walk for suicide prevention. Many of our staff and family attended. This last year we learned that talking about suicide helps more with increased awareness and what the signs and symptoms we need to watch for.
What makes Tina a DAISY Nurse is her enthusiasm for being a nurse and her desire to be the best nurse there is through learning and sharing. I am proud to call her a co-worker and a friend.
