Kristen had a patient newly diagnosed with advanced CA one morning. Kristen stayed with the patient after the team explained the diagnosis and left. She sat with the patient, held her hand and was a shoulder for the patient to cry on, long past her shift had ended. That's the type of person Kristen is, she gives everything to her patients and it weighs on her mentally, physically, and spiritually. Then she comes back every night and does it all over again. I am proud to be her friend and a member of a team with her. She will always do what is right and is the strongest advocate I have had the pleasure of working with. She exemplifies everything The DAISY Award was created for.
