Erica was recognized by a colleague because she is a great teacher, a strong leader and she has been in charge of the BMTU Community Service Committee. Erica formed a group of staff members to participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk. Many of our patients will receive help from the LLS. She also organized two groups of individuals to host dinners at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge. These dinners provide meals to individuals who are receiving treatment for their cancer diagnosis and their caregivers. Last year Erica also worked with the patient services department to create a diversion cart for the BMTU. This cart consists of items that were purchased to be given to patients to make their hospitalization a little easier. Erica is a patient advocate and very much appreciated by colleagues!
