On a cold and snowy January day, we were discharging a homeless patient and discovered that his shoes were missing. We looked in our clothing donation room and there were no men's shoes, especially none in a size 11.5-12. Sending a patient out with just extra footsies and no shoes was not going to cut it. Dan took the shoes off his feet and gave them to the patient! (He had another pair in his truck. Phew!)
