My daughter was admitted to the PICU after a sudden illness and during our few days there all the staff was wonderful, but Alyssa Fotopoulos stood out to me. She was so attentive and just caring through her words when speaking to my baby and her touch each time she came in the room. She always asked if I needed anything and asked if I was doing ok. I probably drove her crazy asking her to take my daughter's temperature so many times, but I was paranoid because of how high it had gotten in the ER.
Alyssa never once complained and let me know that she understood my concerns as a parent. When we moved to the 4th floor Alyssa moved with us from the PICU because of short staffing. She was happy the whole time and without words being said I knew how much she truly loves her job. No one wants to be in a hospital, but I cannot complain about any of the nurses that cared for my daughter. Thank you to all of them. I would like Alyssa to know that she makes dark days brighter and hard days easier for parents like me. It is difficult to allow others to care for your child because we as parents want to make everything better for them. You are truly a wonderful person with a big heart of gold. You have shown this through your interactions and I cannot thank you enough for what you do.
