On November 15th my wife and I were blessed to have our third child at Christiana. During the labor portion of our stay the staff truly shined and made the birth of our son very comfortable. Our Nurse was Stephanie Forester who continuously went above and beyond to assuage any fears/concerns that we had with the progress of the labor, and all the while handled all of our needs without hesitation. Her dedication to her profession was not only represented during the day, and her shift, but when the time came that a caesarian section was needed Stephanie did not leave my wife's side.
During the procedure small setbacks occurred and when my wife needed the extra emotional support Stephanie rose to the occasion. Not only did she do this while working her normal shift at the Labor and Delivery position, but she then stayed past her shift on her own family time to see the delivery to the end. Her dedication to seeing the procedure all the way through, and maintaining a "real" emotional relationship with her patients, my family, was second to none.
The entire crew that worked tirelessly to delivery our son happy and healthy deserves to be recognized, but Stephanie shined in her role as our nurse during our stay. Thank you for everything that you did, and we are forever grateful that you were there that day.
