I was admitted to the hospital on an observation status with symptoms of a stroke but also Bell's Palsy attack. Since the moment I came to the ER everybody was attentive and prompt in taking care of me and my symptoms. After a couple of CTs, the doctor from the ER was not sure about what was happening to me, so he decided to leave me in the hospital overnight. I got admitted and Matt my nurse was waiting for me pretty much at the door of my room to greet me. As soon as I arrived in the room, he started to ask me questions and noticed my speech was slurred. He made sure to confirm his observations with my boyfriend because I have an accent and he wanted to make sure he was not hearing things that were not there. Nevertheless, he did the stoke protocol steps and treated me as expected with all the precautions needed. Matt took the time to sit with me and explain what was happening to my body and what to expect from thereon. I was sad to see his shift end because I felt safe knowing that I had a great nurse taking care of me.
Almost a week after I left the hospital my boyfriend was on his way to pick me up at a family member's house and he got a flat tire. The area where the flat tire occurred was dark and he did not know anyone around that area. Well, guess who stopped in the dark and asked if my boyfriend needed help? Matt! Matt is an angel, he goes above and beyond his duties to help and take care of others. Thank you, Matt.
